250r carb

it probably will not work, its a 34mm and maybe thats all, make sure you run the rite slide cut away correct nozzle all the jets, get that info from these guys and find out whats in the suzy carb you may blow up your quad by just bolting it on.

yes its a 34mm pj...tons of guys on this forum run it and have no problems!

OK Yes it will work, you will need to adapt the air box and intake to accept it.Most likely you will need to purchase new.The answer to your question though is no I would not run that carb with those mods.Get that thing ported then yes, even better with a 3mm stroker crank.I would say 28-30mm would be a better upgrade for you.I run this carb and have for a bit now,it is a good carb (not better than the pwk)but close and has held up well.

you need to make sure it has the right internals, if you bolt it on with a ported motor it will probably not work right, will it work yes, correct no, a YZ 125 runs a 38mm carb so a 200 can run a 34 but the internals need to be right.

no way??...haha....i gotta a 250r carb at my house right now..my dad changed to a 35mm keihn carb soo i got his stock 34mm

yeah i know it can go in there but i was just wondering if it was too big for my mods.

Like dualstroke said, if you get your cylinder ported it would be a good carb to use. Without the porting its going to be too big and the motor will end up bogging when you try to give it gas. Get the cylinder ported and then ask who ever ports it where you should start with the jetting on that carb and they should be able to get you close, then just fine tune it

no the motor will not bog because its to big it bogs because the internals are all wrong, ok what needle is in the carb? what needle should be in the carb, what nozzle is in the carb? what nozzle should be in the carb? this is what I'm talkin about will the carb work sure is it to big no will you spend hours and alot of money to get it right yes, its for a 250r not a blaster don't mess with it get a carb for a blaster or ride your blaster like most of these guys fightin to keep it on the pipe because its jetted terrible I listen to the vids on here and alot of people are that thing sounds awesome and I'm like that thing runs like crap the reason wrong jetting/gearing/pipe/compression but when your 15 I expect that I was there once to.

You have a point Gonzo, although it comes off kinda like, "Duh, you're gonna have to jet the sh*t out of it." On the other hand if the choice is between a free 34PJ that he's going to have to jet and buy a manifold for, it may still be cheaper than buying a nice 28PWK. I still think the best argument is that the 34 is just kinda large for a near stocker.

Could you drop an 850 double-pumper on a stock small-block 350? Sure, but it's a bit much.

Royalt67 thats a close analogy except the 850 is a double pumper and a 34 will only draw the fuel its called for, yes you are correct on the 28, but a 125 back in the day had 22hp and ran a 34 so with a ton of time and alot of parts it could work, I like the 28 you described as an easy way to go.

It goes with out saying that any carb that you put in a bike is going to need tuning. All I was saying is that the 34mm PJ has been used for years and years in blasters without any problems at all...Sure you have to tune it but that is part of building a bike!

I have recently put a 34 PJ on mine.. threw a 155 mainjet in that was ALL i did.. .... left all other "internals" stock/default... I bought it brandnew from a carb dealer that has nothing to do with Blasters..the only thing he sells is carbs.. so its Keihin default settings.. not Blaster settings in any way! .. It rips now!! really insane.. I can only recommend it.. I used a dremel and modified the stock intakeboot... and used a PVC pipe for the airfilter connector.. Works.. and is WAY more cheap to do than buying expensive intake boots etc.

This is the result after carb upgrade and adjustment..

thanks! btw i was thinking of getting a different carb because the stock one has a uneven float. i thought about a PWK 28 off of a yz85 or any 85. i know it was too big i was just trying to find something cheap. i also thought about porting it but im trying to save my $$.

that thing doesn't sound to bad for the main, when you shift it seems a little flat in the mid range it may just be the vid, but if you are trying to tune a carb that is not the way to do it, now if running wide open on a side street is where you ride ok I would not use that as an example for tuning purposes, try riding in the woods where you are at 3,000 rpm's alot an then without the clutch run it to wide open.

Sure I will try that.. actually here on sunday I and the Blaster will go to a large area and ride.. we will film everything..

Its because it is in a storage facility in town.. so thats my only test road... But usually when it flies there.. it will everywhere! :-D

It was me in the film throttleling down in one of the runs... thats why the lagg in one run.. but the two first is full throttle and it runs great.. But sure I will test it in any way here on sunday..

Thanks
