I just bought a 240 kit and installed it and it runs good but what main jet size should i run with airlid on and fmf pipe? What needle position should i use also?

I can't tell you what size jet to run on the stock carb, but I can tell you that tossing the stock carb and replacing it with a bigger one is the best thing i did for my 240. Also, the FMF is really going to hold that bigbore back. Unless you want only low end power, dump it. Get a Factory7 (phantom), DynoPort, LRD, or one of the other pipes like that.

I believe when I had the stock mikuni carb there was a 280 main jet. I couldn't tell you what pilot jet though.

The person that I bought a vito's 240 kit from used the vito's jetting kit and specs for the bb. He melted the piston @15min into the first ride. because of this I am going to use a forged replacement piston and IF I use the factory carb I am going to richen the needle all of the way (put the clip in the richest position), go up two pilot sizes, and start with a 360 main. I would rather start rich and take the time to lean it out than to melt the topend.
