You can make a 200 dam fast for a Blaster.
40cc's onlyhelp out so much.
Imo the most cost effective route is to build a ported 200 with a good carb and pipe to match your riding style. Let's say for instance you can squeeze 40 hp out of the 200 with porting, drag pipe and big carb.
You will only have a 5 to 6 hp advantage (maybe) if you got a 240 kit.
$450..for 5 or 6 hp..Not really worth the money to me..
Porting stock jugg = $175 incl. shipping (RB Racing).....Approx. 10 hp
250 kit no porting =$450...Approx 4 hp...
For the extra money you can buy a good intake and mill your head and be waay faster,
Plus you feel like a ass when you brag about having a 240 kit and you get smoked by a hot 200..
Now if you're competing, 240 will give you the edge, but you pay to play
There's really no debating. What I said makes perfect sense..
This little guy gets uber pissed off at the thought ofa 200cc engine being faster than the almighty 240 kit.
Loser, what exactly are you saying here? In one of your posts you stated that a ported 200 cylinder with a 33mm carb and a drag pipe would beat a ported 240 cylinder with a 36mm flat slide and fmf pipe. In another post you talk about a ported 200 cylinder beating an unported 240 cylinder. What are "we" talking about here? I'm confused
Ported 200 with 33mm carb and drag pipe would be faster than
Ported 240 with stock carb and FMF pipe.
Terribly sorry if I was unclear about that..
Old boy said "Imagine how fast my 240 ported would be"...but I did not think he had the carb..Thought he meant ported 240 stock carb FMF pipe..So I said it would not be faster than a ported 200 with optimal intake and exhaust'
And the other comment was me giving my bottom line answer about ported 200 vs unported 240 kit.
Again, sorry if I was unclear, it's obvious that the ported 240 with similar mods would be a little faster
i never said stock. maybe if you read before you used your fingers.
my setups in my sig... 240 kit, 36mm carb, vf3 reeds, fmf fatty, f7 airbox with uni and outerwears. i dont belive that is a sh*ty setup. but if it is, oh please tell me.
89, thats a pretty good set up. The pipe is going to hold you back some, just because its not made for the bigger cylinder, but all in all it should make you very happy.
My bad, I thought that was your dream list. You really need porting and a better pipe to take advantage of that setup. I could build a 200 that would be faster for less than you spent. That is the whole point of this thread. Ported 200 or 240 bbk.
Sorry if I pissed anybody off. I am really just trying to help.
I originally came on this site to sell my 240 kit, which is still up for sale, but I figured I'd try to clear up some misconceptions and kill some time talking about something I am passionate about.

your set-up sucks big big hairy balls:-D just joking man, you have a great setup and you'll be suprised with it, but as mentioned there are a few things you can do to take advantage of unused power gains!
no blasterboy lol. ok im glad this isnt still a fight. not my dream list, its my parts and it says "Soon to be installed!" for the red ones.
and about the pipe. im totaly bummed about having this fatty and i wish i had a better one, but no more dishing out money till next season. but when next season comes, which pipe would fit me best for my setup? and any other mods i could do to get some more power? other than porting the vitos which i might.
My Blaster NEVER over heats and with my setup has a sh*t LOAD!!! of mid range power, NO BODY! can keep up with me on the trails! and I can still climb all the hills too.
Wow sounds like you have a hell of a setup!
I've got a hill I'd like to see you climb with those Sand Stars
...
It doesn't look like it but it's about 100 ft from the waterline to where the grass starts/ it's not near flat there either/ and it's right at 800 feet top to bottom with no room to build any speed!!
