So many great answers so far on this site so I'll chuck this out there.

1991 Blaster Stock, only mod was blocking the oil injection off.

When we first bought it and took it for a ride on a busted up blacktop parking area I noticed what seemed like a looseness or sloppiness underneath. It was nothing earthshattering just like it had seen it's share of miles. Overall the condition of the unit is pretty nice. It didn't look too abused and the price was fair.

My silly question has 2 parts. First is there a bushing pack for the entire machine available? Second how big of a deal is it to swap out? We haven't removed any a arms or anything so I don't even know what is in there.

Am I out of my mind? This is nothing regarding feeling safe on it, I am only wondering.

Thanks in advance! And thanks to everyone that has been so patient with our stupid questions!

Are you talking about how the ride is bumpy? Could you maybe describe more clearly cause i have no idea what the hell your talking about.

LMAO, it was a serious question. Looks like I did a poor job explaining.

I shall trieth again!

What it seemed like is alot of loose items within the suspension. Not shocks per say but rattling, mostly from the front end. When I would hit a bump or crack in the blacktop it just sounded loose under the machine. Again not real bad or super scary. When I looked I saw the grease fitting and figured that would clear it up. It certainly helped but didn't eliminate it altogether.

I assume there are bushings in the a arms and steering linkages. I also assume there would be replaceable "wear" items you could replace when shot.

Silly me thought maybe someone would say "oh yeah, that is such and such and you can'd find a rebuild kit on site X".

Does that make my question better or is someone driving in my direction with a straight jacket?

well it wouldn't be the tie rods, it would be the tie rod ends they do go bad because they are jointed and pressed in to the tie rods itself, they may be bad, is ur steering good, could be motor mounts, a arms, bumpper could be loose, exhaust, silencer, numerous things rattle, anything that can be tightened, do it to specs.

If you think something is loose, just individually check each part for play.Grab the part(a-arm,shock,pipe,tire,etc.)and try to move it back and forth and up and down. This should be done before every ride really just for safety first of all, plus you will have less worries about something happening while your out riding somewhere.

Thanks for all the ideas.

After closer inspection it would seem the a arms are the culprit. The top of the arms where they attach to the frame have play in them.

The lastest issue sounds like rear bearings. Some squealing just started. We are going to look into some bearings and bushings for the arms. I hope the arms are rebuildable.

the mounting holes in the frame could be out of round from the mounting bolts of "any part" being loose and then making the holes bigger and sloppy. You can use those star type washers that are made to bite the nuts and tighten the bolts more than suggested to hold so they won't get loose.

id replace the a-arms bushings, check the wheel bearings, check your axle carrier bearings, and make sure all the engine bolts as well as a-arm bolts and such are nice and tight.

and for the record, first post wasnt really that far off i had an idea of what you were trying to say. maybe its our guys that need help lol. i know 2smokes got a little canadian in him but that aint no excuse :D

They pretty much answered the questions. If you think its looks just grab it and wiggle it.. usually the bearings and bushings need replaced if its loose. Check your swingarm bearings as well.
