2006 Blaster, special edition. Starts fine, idles fine, but when accelerator is pressed it almost dies. Figured it was the TORS, so followed steps on here to bypass it. Same results, no change. Messed with parking brake switch, can tell when it is engaged but back to normal when not engaged. Changed spark plugs, drained carb bowl, drained gas, nothing. Only time throttle can be opened is when gas is turned off and it runs out of gas, will rev wide open and then dies when out of gas. Any thoughts? I'm at a loss.

Check float height, wifesblaster has a good thing on that.

As for the parking brake, just pull out the switch and cut it off, your problems are fixed then

Do these things in this order.

Unplug parking brake sensor
Clean and oil air filter
Completly disassemble carb and clean
Set float height when you assemble the carb
Compression test
Inspect reeds
Leak test

List mods and jetting. You need to leak test if you haven't already. Dont worry about it reving wide open when it runs out of gas. It is because the lack of fuel creates a brief lean air fuel mixture.

You need to cut the wires! otherwise it will just keep bogging!! :o :o (even more if that WASNT the problem lol )

Also check the petcock on the fuel tank, screens tend to get clogged up. Petcocks cause a lot of problems.

Thanks for all the responses. I've tried them all but same results. Could it possibly be the CDI box stuck in TORS mode? Just reaching for anything now.
