Im over on LS1tech now, but i just kinda sit back and try to absorb as much information as possible, I:I

Mods i have planned for the near future,
Center Mount Exhaust
SLP Lid
Black Billet Grill(temporary)
SLP Grille(staying)
Berger Panel Mod
ZR1 Wheels
anddd maybe one day, ill start the engine internals modding off with a mild cam. (:

Well congrads austin on your new ride! Not my favorite body style year, but the power is there! Lots of aftermarket goodies available as i'm sure you know!
I have one suggestion, do not put 24" rims on it with Low profiles, I think that looks retarded, but just IMO!
Stop back often, as we love cars, bikes, atv's and of course Blasters!

Nice maro man my moms selling her 98 z28 soon..=(...u ever heard spintech exhausts they sound good on our z....same moters i think yall have postive traction switch an the different hood a few other small things

damn, a lot of car for a 16yo. you better be careful with that there pony.

basically the same motors yes, :) few differences in cam(its basically unnoticable) and intake, but the other stuff like you said is pretty much the only differences. I:I

im careful, ;) just not allll of the time. lolol lucky for me, i can drive pretty damn good for a 16 year old.. until i find my first ditch. lol

tons of great info on tech.

those LS motors are awesome. is it an auto? if so you're going to want to do a converter at the same time as the cam!

and later on....call up Nitro Dave's for some go fast juice

Thats definitley the truth Brando, I love my ls1! and good point with the stall converter, ill probably go pretty mild, because i plan on just a mild cam. And i dont know why but im terrified of running nitrous oxide.

Not a fan of the LS1 or the camaro ill stick to my SBF's and supercharged 4.6's.

Although chevy did do a good job on the ls1's power and god damn do they respond well to mods.I like my fords mustangs in particular.

that's actually funny, because the Gen III GM motors are fairly similar to the Windsor family when it comes to port lay out in the heads.

I have always kinda wanted to play with a mod motor, but it's hard to justify the cost vs benefit when an NA 4.6 can barely outrun my old lack-luster 305 in my IROC at the track. and then I have to tack a 100 shot on that 305 to keep up with the LS1 cars.

I would love to get an 05+ mustang and put a turbo LS motor in it. gotta love a mutt.

and to the OP, nitrous isn't that scary at all when you're dealing with a small shot. the problem is it's like a drug, you're always gonna want more!

Hmmm cost vs benefit...???Im kinda confused seeing how a trickflow topend sets you back what 2500 yet nets you 390/390 then you add juice or boost and the only limit is your wallet and bottom end.

Thats just the 2v when you get into the 4v cobras and so on your options literally go limitless and i promise your ls1 wont handle reliably what the mod motors will.

As for your 305 im going to venture a guess and say either your bull sh*tting or youve had work done and just dont want to admit it or know it.

I built my little bro a 305 with ported world product heads that performed well but it wasnt a garden variety 305 in a scrapmaro like you suggest i did a bunch of work to it to make it get up and go.Id like to see your 305 whipping up on a 4.6 even the worst lowest powered 4.6 like my 96 GT came with. Those were rated at a whopping 215hp WOO HOO lol.

Swap cams, intake, rear gears, program the trans and swap in a stall, and for good measure toss on a VORTECH huffer and you got a fun little street car like mine of course after all the supporting mods and a healthy tune.

she's got an unknown cam in it, set of headers, and some 3.73 gears. could be that the guy with a mustang didn't have a handle on his own car. I got to take it for a spin and it definitely FELT better than mine, but just never seems to make it to the stripe first.

my ole beater runs 9.0x in the eighth mile. definitely not fast by any means.

my "lack luster" and other's may be different too, I feel like I'm going slow in a car that was running 6.80's in the eighth mile

hahaha, yes they do! im a camaro guy down to the bone. however, lets run a F/I ls1 v a F/I 4.6, (; sometimes theres no replacement for displacement.

i hate to tell you but when it comes to small blocks, GM is king. swap cams, intake, rear end, gears, shift kit, stall, and some sort of forced induction and you have what we call a stang killer.....

ive seen my fair share of mustangs with lsx motors, but ive yet to come across someone who wants to put a 4.6 in a camaro... now im no genius but there mayyyy be a reason why.;)

Not slamming the Ford stuff either, the fastest car I've gotten to drive was a mustang With a 306/c4 with a trans brake. Car was a blast with wheels up launches!

hahah ive ridden in my fair share of mustangs that will just about make you sh*t your pants. lol I:I
my fav mustang to hot rod around in was my buddy pos fox body, that little bastard had h/c/i and it would throw sideways like nothing around, we had fun burning up the streets before he sold it.

the good news is he bought himself a 3rd gen transam.

I like my 3rd gen mullet machines. Lots of room under the Hood

I'm swapping in a 6.0 with spray or maybe eBay turbo. Don't know which yet. I have a 5.3 here too
