i havn't couldn't be too hard, maybe a bit annoying cause of the small size, i like the title of this thread though, maybe someone creative could work it into a off topic sticky, anyways, i say go for the rebuild, why not
Unless it was run dry (most people are clueless about 2strokes) the bearings will normally go out first, and when that happens you may as well get a new one.
If it's a reputable brand (stihl, husqvarna, and possibly echo) you can purchase a top end cheaper than a new string trimmer. If it's a cheapy cheapy, you probably can't even get a new top end... and it certainly wouldn't be worth buying one even if you could.
i say on this one show with them gas powered rc cars they had weedeater motors in them and they got a pipe for it a bigbore and stroker crank for it now imagine sending that to flotek or ken to get the ports matched for the stroker crank and mabey an aggressive weed port job and you could be cuting down trees
If you have to get the cyl. bored its probably not worth it. I know my shop charges $60 for that then probably another $80-$100 for the piston kit. like mentioned above unless its a good brand you probably cant get parts. But as for rebuilding the top end its easy and simple if you wanna do it
