2 blasters 1 dead need help!!

New to this forum, but not to riding quads. Just wanted to get expert opinions, i bought 2 blasters 2000 and 2003 both with fmf pipes and fatty exhaust. one has dg rims and new tires.
2003 runs like a champ! I:I
Problem is that the 2000 i took it out for a ride for the first time, and it always starts good but once i ride it for about 10 minutes the engine just gets so hot it just seizes??X(anyway when it is hot it will not crank over, once it cools for about 5 minutes it starts again! i got both for 2000 dollars but i think i got ripped off!
Do you guys think the motor is gone? the guy said he mixes it 16 ounces for 2 gallons but maybe it needs more oil?
he claims it was bored out and jetted but now i am not sure what to believe?
Should i get it rebuilt or is am i not mixing it right?
 
leakdown test to check for air leaks and a compression test will tell us more

adding twice as much oil for those 2 gallons of gas is actually leaning out the fuel/air mix, which is needed to cool the engine

4 ounces of oil for every gallon of gas, thats 8oz. to 2 gallons, not 16 oz.

i'd say it's toast as of now, do a compression check, after mixing the fuel correctly, chances are the rings are fried at least, prolly needs a top end rebuild, that can be had for around $200, if it's otherwise in good condition, $2000 for both was on par

hey thanks for the replys i really appreciate it, i am going to drain the gas and start fresh with what you guys told me.....i will keep posted as to what happens.
i tried to start it earlier but its dead, not seized though it turns over pretty good, gonna change spark plug and gas...

yep, let us know for sure what ya find,
i'd like to see compression test results
and i'd still do a leakdown test or it's could fry no matter how much or not of oil you use
 
well did new plug, tried to start it but as i did heard a metal breaking sound??? not good did a compression test on it only getting 35lbs max?!??? toast i think! sucks
anybody have a spare motor!? or do you think its salvageable? it has fmf pipe with fatty exhaust and douglas rear rims good frame paid 1000 including helmet! should i sell it or rebuild?
