hey guys here is a vid of my 4.0 ranger with the flowmaster super 10 muffler, 2.5" piping, and 3.5" 45 degree slash cut tips... it is a single in dual out (SI/DO)... the ranger has the manifolds with the y-pipe joining it into one exhaust, 2 catalytic converters, the flowmaster super 10 muffler that puts it back into duals, then the tips. let me know what you think of it i think it sounds pretty good, maybe soon i'll clear the front converter and take off the back one.

looks and sounds good casey, louder than my similar magnaflow si/do system.
i'll was hoping for a rev up with the camera behind it, to hear it really roar ???

super 10 ???? i see guys on frf talkin super 40 ???
is the 10 louder/more free flowing ???
if not, i'd say you already have a good headstart on them cats, must be 1/2 blown out already ???
i'm counting more than 2 cats on my front, possibly 4 if i remeber correctly ???
('02 xlt)

i'll have to duct tape my cell phone to the back bumper tomorrow and get ya a running down the road/gettin on it, sound clip
although mine are angled out both sides behind the tires, so you can never really get them both at the same time like yours

now lets try not to get any tickets "gettin on them pipes"
nuthin gets a cops attention more than a "lions roar"

thanks man, and alright as soon as i get a chance i'll get a vid of them from behind while it's getting revved.

yeah the guys on frf don't recommend super 10's at all because they say it will make it sound like a ricer, but i don't think so after hearing mine haha. a super 10 is considered a single chamber race muffler, it is as close to a straight pipe as you can get. so it is definitely more free flowing than a super 40 and alot louder too.

when i'm cruising around real slow i can put it in 1st gear and when i let off the gas it has that slight popping that i love about exhausts and i've been getting tons of compliments from the guys at school that run v8's (one friend has a 74 f100 ranger with a 460 big block v8 in it, talk about a beast).

and if you got anymore questions about the exhaust, just ask bro, i don't mind a bit to answer.

also, if you can hear it, my truck misses really bad... i have changed 4-5 sensors, fixed 3 vacuum leaks, did ANOTHER tune up even though i had just done one, changed fuel filter AGAIN, and even tried running higher octane gas. i'm thinking maybe there is another vacuum leak as it is throwing PO171 and PO174 codes which are system lean bank #1 and #2. any ideas?

well, mine was installed by the previous owner, a 70 year old man !!!!!
along with a S&B cai, with clear lid airbox, K&N filter and cold air intake tube, which give it a little more roar,
i doubt he wanted the pipes poppin when he left off, nor do I.
hahaaaaa
but still has a good rumble to it.

edit..........no idea on the codes, never had any codes
whats the guru's on frf say ????

have you cleaned the MAF, with maf cleaner only, ask for it at the auto store

guys on frf already told me my truck sounded like pure sh*t, they haven't said anything on the codes yet. you see what i mean? just because everybody on there don't like single chamber mufflers, others jump onto the bandwagon and hate on it. i think that's just stupid if you ask me but whatever, haters gonna hate.

and sounds like you got a nice list of mods there! also, mine only pops when i let off the gas if i slightly touch the pedal (which i do because i think the pop sounds cool haha), it doesn't pop much, if any, at all if i just let off the gas and leave it. also, it doesn't pop period if i have it in drive or overdrive, only if it's in first or second and it won't do it then if it is in drive/overdrive.

and yeah, i've replaced the MAF but i kept the one that came off it because it already looked new. i replaced: TPS (throttle position sensor), EGR (exhaust gas recirculation or something haha), IAC (idle air control), and MAF (mass air flow)

i have the exact same codes... they won't go away.. and i've checked every wire and vacuum line there is... :(

if either of you have a droid or iphone, there are programs available that will read/clear and even tune thru a bluetooth obdII sensor, i got one from ebay for $6 + a few shipping, they're usually $35
but, the "torque" program i got from the droid market, my phone recognizes the sending unit, but i've yet to get the "torque" to work ????
gonna try the paid ($4.99) version of "torque" soon
not sure what the iphone version is called ?? but i know i saw it listed on frf in a
"obdII bluetooth" thread,
maybe it will help you 2 ?????
better than paying a shop to read and clear those codes

heres the thread i made for it on here, with youtube vid

^^^ i own a code reader/computer that you hook vehicles to already haha. i've cleared my codes tons of times but they keep coming right back up. i found that another thing that can cause these symptoms is the fuel pump slowly starting to fail and when it finally does your stuck sitting... but i've checked my pump and it is within specs still. i got some dry rotted vacuum lines on my truck so i'm going to check them and see if they leak. my code reader reads codes, clears them, monitors sensors, tells you any pending codes (about to come on), etc. it's my dad's but he lets me use it whenever i need to.

sweet /\/\/\
and i have to apologize,
i originally thought, but may not have said, that your truck sounded a little loud, not sure what you used to film that ???
but this cellphone vid, as others i have taken, does not sound accurate,
my truck does not sound this obnoxious, it does have a nice deep, throaty sound, but as i stated yesterday, i did tape my $300+ andriod phone to my traler hitch cover to get you a sound byte, and it sucks
but i'll show it anyway
the beginning is half revving it, as thats all this p.o.s. will allow you to do, 3000 rpm max. in park or nuetral
second part involves a lot of road noise too........................

i recorded my vid with my motorola milestone (android), it is the only thing i have except a gopro and sound quality on the gopro is clear but you have to turn your speakers all the way up just to hear it. and your truck sounded pretty good, it also popped a little in the beginning like mine does. and yeah my exhaust isn't quiet by any means but it isn't bust your ear loud either. and why is 3000 rpm your truck's max? my ranger revs all the way to 6000 rpms, in neutral or in gear. maybe your throttle cable is stretched? have you done the throttle cable mod yet?

The ecu on these newer, or automatics
Shut it down at 3 grand in park/neutral, it also has a top speed limiter of 95 mph,
And that was it hitting the 3g rev limit you heard, no pops or misses on this truck
Fuggin Ford and they're
Limiters, communist I tell ya, Hahaaaa

They all have the limiters now days but its easily overridden like i did on my hemi dodge short bed. It just starts to pull @ the old rev limit and top speed limit it used to have at 110.

Chip or programmer ?

Chip or programmer ?

I use a superchip programmer. I can control shift points, rev limit, top speed and tons of other things. Never waste your cash on a chip when you can control so many other things.

I had an engine light out and took my program off my truck to see if i could clear the CEL and it makes such a huge diferance in power and acceleration I immediately put the program back on and took the truck to get the error code fixed.

Superchips is the way to go, i love it. I have my top speed set at 150 which it will never see and my revs set at 7 grand now and it does see 7 grand because i have a 392 stroker motor in it :).

sweet, thanx bro, i will look into that
this limiter sh*t is like putting a muzzle on me in here.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaaa

^^^ haha yeah it's pretty loud but it's not too loud, if i deleted the cats it'd be flat out obnoxious for sure. i like it the way it is because it isn't loud in the cab just from the back.
