High Octane Fuel and the Definition of Detonation

Blasters do have an odd almost something wrong kinda sound to them. Why ???
Be that a Blaster engine is air cooled, there is no cooling jacket like a liquid cooled engine has. The rubber dampeners that are inserted in between the fins of the Blaster cylinder and cylinder head absorb harmonics to help keep it from "ringing like a bell". If you are not using the dampeners, the noise that an air cooled engine makes, especially a two stroke engine, will be much more pronounced.

I've never seen it, but a few friends of mine swear that removing the dampeners will crack the fins. From what I understand, it is a matter only of time.
