ok so im an idiot and let my chain get to loose and i didn't tighten it up and it cracked my transmission thing so i fixed that and so i started it back up and now i believe the trans is shot bc when i shifted from nuretral to reverse it was like i still in nuetral. so i shifted to drive and it done the samething so now i believe that im going to have to rebuilt my trans. can anyone help with this?

did you check the linkage from the shifter to the gear box to make sure nothing nothing happened to it when the chain broke.

ya i'm thinking that it messed up the gears inside the case cause the rear brake rotor is connected to a long rod that goes all the way through the case and to the belt pulley and the rotor spins so i know its getting power to there so it must be inside the case some where maybe when it the chain jammed the gears got striped or chiped and now will not grab and hold

i know the brake you are talking about, but which belt pully is it connected to the one is powered by the engine or the second pully that is connected to the transmission? if it's the first one it will spin even if the belt is broken.
