is it ok to use 10w 30 royal purple in the trans?

I would say probably not. I dont have a bottle sitting beside me ATM but im sure it has friction modifiers in it (bad news for a wet clutch). unless it says on it that you can use it for wet clutch applications i wouldnt use it. when I first got my blaster I just put regular motor oil in it and I ended up having clutch problems because it was slipping constantly. my suggestion is go to your dealer and ask them what oil to use.

If this is what you have then your good but if it is automotive oil then DO NOT use it!!!!

I use motul trans oil 10w30, no clutch slip whatsoever

You want to use an oil that is made for a wet clutch.

It is perfectly OK to use a 10w 30 motor oil as long as it contains no friction modifiers.

Yamaha recommends to use 10 w 30 four stroke motor oil.

i would never put 1030 in the blaster i was going to use it in my kx

10w - 30 motorcycle/atv oil made for wet clutches is fine. Some 4s machines now have engine and trans oil seperate, so you have to watch, read the bottle.
