i dont know much. but if you go to project blaster they have a section where they show the progressions of them building a race blaster. starting with SUSPENSION! take a look at it. maybe you'll get some ideas. but like the others said. look for deals! jsut research a bit and your $1000 will go a looong way. what kind of riding do you plan on doing??

I would personal got with upgrading your suspension bro. Extended a-arms and swinger, get a set off good shocks all around.
