have you tried a strong magnet attached to a long thin screwdriver, or tipping the bike on it's side, .....maybe a shop vacuum with smaller hose to suck it out < all just thoughts,
splitting the cases may be required if nothing else works

I had success with tipping the blasty on it side! But I'd give the magnet and a steel coat hanger a try first ( I say that as not all of us have a 12" thin screw driver).
I'm still kinda stumped as to why you have had problems getting the clutch pressure plate and rod out Items Number 17-18-19-20 on the diagram. All you should have to do is remove the 5 screws and springs on the plate and pull it off, should be no resistance!
