rite lads im after putting new selectors in my yamaha blaster and it was going 100 percent until i drove it for a while.I was in 4th gear and i went to go down the gears and it wouldnt go down the gears.I had to stop and it wont go into gear at all. When i pull the clutch it feels like theres no pressure on it at all. What could it be??????? thanks

had this happen once, the nut on the center adjusting rod came loose, i've also pulled the clutch in for too long at high speed and welded the ball to the rod inside the clutch, this also gave the same symptons you describe
your gonna need to open the clutch cover, and see if the locking nut on the adjuster rod came loose, then pull the pressure plate to see if you welded the ball to the rod

clean the threads with brake cleaner, and use a little blue locktite on that nut,
if welded ball, you'll need a new set (rod/ball)

Rite lads its alright i pulled the cover off.The nut was loose but the nut had blue loctite on it already so i dont know how it came loose.the ball hasnt wwelded itself to the rod.Was lucky tanks lads

Had basically the same thing happen to me! But i cant get the pushrod out on the clutch side! how much force can i put on it? any replacement parts better than others?

you need to pull the pressure plate off and the rod comes out with it, theres a washer/nut type thing behind the pressure plate that holds it all together

careful putting the springs back on, just hand tight or to torque specs(in the manual), they strip easily

i took off the nut on the pressure plate and it wont come out! the rod has a phillips slot on the end if were talking about the same part! It sticks when you pull the clutch lever. so something is binding! was running it pretty hard saturday when it happened!

again....the rod does not come out thru the pressure plate, you need to pull the pressure plate to remove the rod

keys there is something behind the presure plat you have to remove the presure plate completly and the rod comes out with the presure plats.

i tore it all off! including the clutch basket and still cant get it out!

never heard of that before, it must really have the ball bound up in there ????

the whole thing...both rods and ball may be welded together and hanging up on the other side ?????
try pullling the clutch acuator up and out on the other side where the clutch cable connects, unhook the spring from the case and it just pulls up and out

yeah what he said^ doesnt that arm move the rods awk.

yes that arm pushes the rods, and i had one in the wrong position as i installed it, the rod had pushed past it and it had a grip on the rod

finally got out one piece of rod! used a socket and put a nut on the rod and used that as a puller. Took quite a bit of effort to get it broke free. now the other part and the ball bearing. has anyone ever had the housing it goes in get damaged?

Here is a diagram for ya-
