So today I went riding with a buddy and we both have 05 blasters mine has a fresh top end with not even 3 hours on it and a fmf gold series pipe his is bone stock, they both rip but when we traded off I could feel his hitting power band a little different then mine was , while mine had more power off the line and was digging in the mud/ snow a lot better, while his I could hear the powerband hitting / crossing over mine I didn't really hear just mildly felt

So my question is , is the fmf gold pipe or something else making our quads run different ?

Short answer? Absolutely.

Long boring answer? It allows the motor to "breathe" easier and move fuel/air in and out of your engine faster. That means more fuel/air is being burned faster to make more powa!

I don't really hear it hit to hard on mine but I feel it a lot probably bcus I always go full throttle lol, on my buddys with stock exhaust I hear it change over the same way I do on my bike , should I adjust the clip on the needle would that make a difference

How does it run now? If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Pilot jet- Idle into 1/4 throttle
Needle- 1/4 into 1/2 throttle
Main- 1/2 into full throttle

If it bogs down or doesn't run right in any throttle position, adjust accordingly.

It runs good but idk I wish I could send you a video of what I mean something to me feels a little off

It is kind of interesting that with a 2 stroke you can make a huge change in performance without even buying any performance parts. Modify the the combustion chamber, set up the squish and jet the carb will have a stock Blaster making about 20% more power. You just cannot do that on most 4 strokes.

Have you rejetted yours for the FMF pipe ?
Confirmed main jet with plug chops ?
What main jet ?

3 hours fresh....
Did you do proper heat cycles then retorque the head/base nuts ?
Leak down tested ?
Compression test ?

Both bikes have.....
the same size rear tires and sprockets ?
Same freshly cleaned/oiled air filters ?
Air box lids on/off ?

Not one pipe out of the many I've owned required a needle clip change from the middle slot.

I honestly don't know anything about jetting , I put in a stock carb repair kit and have th needle on the 3rd clip setting , I have no idea how to jet it for the pipe if you could explain or point me in the right direction that would
Be great, compression test is good didn't do leak down and after heat cycles checked bolts they were still torqued tight, as for sprockets you may be right mine has been changed but not
Sure if stock or not as his is
