03 Hydro brake confusion

OK,so i got to bleeding the rear brake, and i spent like half an hour trying to bleed it and nothing. So i go to check where you put the brake fluid, and i take out the rubber cup thats in there and inspect it, i noticed it didnt have a hole for the fluid to filter, so i went to experiment and put the brake fluid directly in the lil tank and it worked awesome.

My question now is, whats wrong?? this brake system has only been taken apart once(now), it has work perfect since it was bought brand new, so what the fluck is going on....

well whats going wrong? You open the cap,pull out the rubber,fill it,(more then full)..then open the nipple on the brake..start pumping till fluid leaks out. when it does tighten the nipple..replace the rubber and cap..then pump and hold the brake and bleed as normal.

the bleeding process aint my problem. The things is that why doesnt this rubber thing dont have a hold so the fluid and filter through, and this as liek this sicne stock and has been working perfect, till now that it was pulled apart during rebuild. With the rubber cup it dont work,without it it does, wtf.

Also this rubber cup is important because without it, a bushing style cap wll jsut be lose and when i put the main cap i think it will spill over, what im trying to say is, that it needs this to seal properly.

fluid isnt ment to drain threw that rubber cap...the purpose of it is when you bleed the fluid threw and you put the rubber cap on then the rez cap...it acts like a suction cup..helping any air stay at the stop and not in the lines. when you pump the brake the rubber is what causes the pressure.

the rubber piece isnt suspose to have a hole for it to filter thru.i tihnk that is just there for kinda like a gasket purpose or something.u take the rubber out then put the brake fluid in and thats it.u dont put the brake fluid on the rubber piece

Well said!! The brakes can be a pain in the arse to bleed.I use a self bleeding gun now but before that I use to place the caliper on the ground and do it manually.Seems to work alot better than when on the bike.I know dareal doesn't need bleeding help but figured I would toss the info out there since we are on the topic.lol Dareal the blaster is looking sweet!!

Well said!! Yea, i was pumping the brake with my feet then holding it and stretching the f*ck out to reach the nipple and bleed it lmao, my back was starting to hurt lol but im good now.
