So in about September of 2014 my motor completely(bottom end was gone) blew and I had to rebuild it. I did most of it on my own (first time ever) but i took the top end to a shop so that they can measure my cylinder and bore it. The shop told me it didn't have to be bored and i could buy stock piston and rings.

Did that and got the bike back together and running. Then the top end blew so I took the bike to a different shop and the guy said that I should have had it bored the first time and that's why it blew.
So around the end of January 2015 I had my bikes top end rebuilt and the shop also jetted my carb. (Said it would be better for riding in the snow, Im in New England, cold a** winter this year with alot of snow).

The last time i rode the bike was sometime in March about a month and a half ago. (I have started it like 3 times since march but its just to make sure it starts then turned it off never longer than 2 minutes on).

So today I was planning on taking the bike out and went to go start it. When I did, I had to press the gas every few seconds so that it wont turn off and it was SMOKING like crazy. Didn't want to risk it so i turned it off and no riding for me today.

Is it smoking because the main jet is too big and i need to put the stock one back on now that the temperature is warmer?
Or are my seals messed up?

p.s. My gas-oil mix is also really old
and main jet was the only one changed

Do a leakdown test to make sure your still air tight and no seals are blown. I'd drain that old gas, clean your carb, put in a fresh plug, and try again.

What size jet are you running ? What mods do you have on the bike that would affect airflow to and from the motor?

drain that old fuel and get fresh, new NGK B8ES plug, completely clean the carb, remove the pilot and main jets to clean them as that old fuel/oil laying in the carb for months may have them gunked up, carb clean and blow out all passages in the carb.

replace your summer temp jet if it's you're only going to ride it in those temps, if it drops into the low 40's/high 30's yet, it may fry if you ride it ?

a leakdown test should also be performed, that will confirm the crank seals are not the source of the excess smoke.

start and get it warmed up and adjust the airscrew per the sticky in the carb section, and plug chop whatever main jet your using in the temps you plan to ride it.

the highlighted topics have stickied threads at the top of the carb section, or search for them.

or I have them if you need one.
