I've got an 02 blaster that won't idle but when i miss with the air and idle adjustments it will for a while and when i turn the choke off it dies it will idle and rev in neutral fine. But when I put it in gear is loses all power and sometimes dies completely. Help me please:-/

have you cleaned the carb? have you checked the reeds? have you tried fresh fuel? how's the compression?

carb is clean, gas is fresh, starts easy in warm temps. messed with idle and air adjustments. will idle and rev up fine but when i put it in gear there is no power or throttle response whatsoever. i can putput around but no bottom end or powerband. then i put the silincer back on and it wouldn't idle. almost like there's too much back pressure or not enough air

reeds are clean, compression is good, revs like a new bike when in neutral. throttle feels like it sticks when revving in neutral. i just don't understand why it acts fine in neutral but won't hit the powerband or even cruise right for that matter.

The T.O.R.S. is a throttle over ride system that is supposed to cut of the motor in case it gets stuck wide open. Safety feature that is just junk. There is a part that attaches to the top of the carb, there is a brain under the front hood and a swicth in the thump throttle.

If you use the search you will get a complete explanation of the system and how to remove/delete the system.

sounds to me like a jetting problem... tery wour needle first then your main jet

could be parking brake, but then it should do it in neutral if i'm not mistaken......when's the last time you cleaned your air filter?

T.O.R.S was unhooked to begin with. plugged it back in and it seemed to help. will idle with silincer on and adjusted air screw. I ran it around ant it will go and stay running just no powerband or top end and bogs in third gear. any ideas as to what could be the problem? also does anyone know how to check the oil? the oil light hasn't turned off since i got it and i have a small oil leak behind my clutch.

ok well i plugged in my parking brake sensor and nothing changed. but there was a three pronged white plug that i plugged in and it killed the engine, it wouldn't start and when i unplugged it everything was fine. what is it?X(

Ok well i've pretty well narrowed it down to a carb problem. took it apart and the float is good and the needle seats just fine. maybe i'm not tearing it down far enough. i'm pretty sure it's the stock carb and i would replace it but i'm on a budget. I haven't removed the float I just took the bottom piece off and cleaned out some dirty parts. And inside the carb there is a small amount of cakey white residue in the bowl is that bad?

if there's cakey white stuff in the bowl, there's cakey white stuff in the passages in the carb. you need to pull the jets and everything out and clean out all the passages

Ok well I've cleaned the carb a couple of times and it didn't help but like i said i didn't tear it down far enough. B12 won't get it out but i'll try again and see what happens. thanks for the help.
