Ok guys, justy got this blaster and wasnt runnign when i got it so I am trying t get it going now. I am not too engine savy here, so my buddy was helping me who is awesome at this stuff and I am learning while we are working on this thing. IT was sitting for about 2 years before i got it.....

I took off the carb to clean it and he says he has never seen so much crap in a carb. It was full of almost like Gel from gas I am assuming, and lots of other buildup so I am cleaning the crap out of that thing.

We took off the gas tank and emptied it to put some fresh 93 in it..... cleaned the air filter, etc.....

Also, there is no spark from the plug and we cant figure out why. I bought a new spark plug and put it in the rubber thingy and he says that when you hold the plug to a grounded metal and kick it, you should be able to visibly see the spark, which we can not, however the little red light on the front of the thing starts to light up.. I know this is the oil light, and was wonderign if it should flicker when starting it, or it is trying to go on when starting, and I need to check something in the oil injection.

Any questions or comments would be appreciated as I really want to get this thing running... Thanks, and I am sure I will have more questions to come....

um when i still had the oil injection the light would come on when starting. thats normal. it is a low oil light and after the blaster runs for a bit, it will shut off. here is what controlls spark. the CDI and the stator supplies the power. there is what you need to do. turn on you headlight and kick it over. its the light lights up your stator is ok and making energy. next is volt meter time. you need to test the wires from the stator to the CDI and make sure its getting power. then test the wires from the CDI to the coil if thoes are all good, you have narrowed it down to the coil. replce it. it does break. if you are getting power to the CDI, but not to the coil replace the CDI. hope all this helps.

just another suggestion to try is your fuel lines. my buddys 05 wouldnt start and wouldnt start he went through every thing finaly he replaced the fuel line. It was so plugged up not even air would go through.

UPDATE--- After doing somem ore reading on here, i did the TORS removal, and finally got a spark. Put everything back together and started it up and started after like 3 kicks, and i forgot to pull the choke out.....lol

The engine seems to have like a knocking sound to it tho, I drove it around the yard in 1st gear, but didnt want to go much faster than that, is this normal in a 2 stroke?? Also, I revved the throttle still in neutral and it seemed that after i let go of it it wanted to keep revving..... The thing hadnt been started in like at least 3 years, so is there anyhting else you guys would do to it? thanks !

usually a stroker crank will make a knocking sound unfortuneatly so will piston slap. the continuos rev is carb related. adjust the knob on top of the tors or the carb. i would get rid of the oil injector faiure will result!

Definitely remove the oil injection and mix it urself. Also, when you removed the gas tank, did you remove and clean the valve that turns the gas on and off??

Check what main jet is in it. There's no telling what someone else did to it b/f you got it. A knocking sound means it leeeaan. Mine does this when its running out of gas on "ON," then I turn it to "RESERVE" and it stops knocking.

is it puffing white smoke? could be a dried up crank seal leaking air causing your lean condition...

agree as above I would do a leak down test and make sure your crank is good. mine burnt down in st anthonys it had a knocking sounded like piston slap tor it down and achunk was missing off the piston. got it all back together it started and ran good for about two min then the knocking came back. did the leak down, bad crank bearings. also it is an extremly good ideah to mix your own oil and gas then you know your engine is getting the right amount less worry and less damage in the long run.
