2001 all stock. Son was riding and reed broke, put new reeds in and now wont run right. it will idle great, has great throllte response, but put the thing into gear and take off it will only bearly hit the power band and acts like its runnin out of fuel. so in the process of rebuilding the carb, installing new reeds, making sure the thors was unhooked, I rode and shut the fuel off, just before it runs out of fuel it runs great. The floats are set at 21mm. I just dont know what else to look for.

Thanks for everyones help (which was none) guess I will find a better place to get advice than this site.

that broken piece of reed might have fowled the plug. dude you posted right in the middle of getting off and getting home time. patience man

have you tried a fresh spark plug yet?

and chill out man, some forums you have to wait weeks for answers...

New reeds ,new plug, new fuel, rebuilt carb., 130 compression, and sorry just needing to get this thing going.

nothing else changed besides the stuff you just listed? no new modifications or anything? did you change any of the settings on the carb?

same thing kinda happend to me once. i couldnt figure it out, then i took it in and it turned out i lost a little washer that goes in the carb. get a diagram of a carb and make sure everything is in there. also try blasting thru all the jets and stuff with carb cleaner.

Nothing else changed. carb at factory settings ( for sure been thur it 6 times today). Fuel from tank flows great. When I rebuilt carb. had diagram to follow.

did u check all the measurements for the reed cage..some times the stop bends back and keeps the reed to far open which will flood the motor..down load the free manual from this forum and measure ...also reeds can not be fliped upside down ...if that aint it then its in the carb..again read the free manual set the floats as per book.use a q tip and some toothpaste and clean where the jets sit make sure to get all paste out..the paste polishes these areas helping it to smooth out the jets....last but not least..the fn gaskets for the reed cage suck ass put a small layer of black silicone on it an extremely small air leak can cause more problems then necessary this is an extremely common issue

Thanks I will go back and check everything again, Im sure float is right and reeds are brand new and correct with man. but i will try the tooth paste tomarrow. have already done the silicone on intake gasket. Thanks for the help.
