People will tell you that you cant get the parts through US yammy shops but i have, i go there, they get on their canadian home page and just order the parts easy as pie! Call me a liar! I got Receipts!!!B)
Lots of the 84-88 DT 200R and DT200L/C engine parts have been discontinued. Doing a direct engine swap is easy as pie, but utilizing the blaster cases/tranny is a whole other ballgame. I believe you, but I need to ask if you can send me a PM with your local dealerships number. I really need to have a dealership in the states I can utilize to order replacement parts from. Thanks and hope to hear back from you. Sorry for the threadjack but please post some pics of your project.
Sure.. no prob, When i get home tonight i will post PM the info to you(Roostinshee), I also want to add for people who are doing this type of project that after doing more parts research myself I found that I can get full rebuild and gasket kits for even cheaper on ebay than in the Yamaha shop but when it comes to mixing and matching blaster case with DT head and gears it's going to be much more complicated to mix and match rebuild or repair parts no matter whether it's with Ebay or the yammy shop, you will wind up having to custom fab a lot of stuff. I was able to successfully transplant the blaster engine into the DT200 Frame with some mod of the frame and a custom made set of pivot bolt washer inserts for the engine case, I then took the DT stock exhaust and angled out the pipe after cutting the bottom and extending it out 4 inches so it could wrap around the larger air cooled head. I sold the DT as a dirtbike with the Blaster engine in it after that. Right now I have gotten finished with the custom fab on the blaster frame "glassing" it to minimize the appearance of weld beads making the frame look more like a perfect mold. Will be powder coating it after FEb 4th when tax return is in. Hope to have pics of current progress soon after. I will also post pics of the DT200 with the Blaster engine in it also. Thanks for keepin on me to get those pics up, it's great motivation to hurry up and finish the project!
