Hey guys, know some of you rock the yfz shocks either front or rear or both....i am plannin on upgrading to the yfz fronts for sure and know they will fit since i have +3 arms....but i am questioning if i can make the rear fit....mounting is not a problem but length is what im wondering since i am using the stock banshee shock currently....anyone know the yfz450 rear shock length eye to eye? thanks

There are quite a few people on here that have added a yfz rear shock. It's not too hard to do but it raises the rear quite a bit. I believe the length is 18.25 inches. Quite a bit longer than the banshee shock at 13.6 inches.

wow yeah that is quiet a difference....now im thinking since the current shock mount i am using is welded in about 5-6 inches lower than stock...if i get the yfz rear maybe i can make it work in or around the stock top mount. I am startin to like this idea, yfz shock + banshee linkage setup...should give some pretty sick wheel travel...i will have to get some measurements...whats stock rear length anyone?

yeah i thought it looked like there was alot of extra material to play with on the yfz rear...i am thinking that i might be able to put in the yfz shock in and mount it to the stock top mount or at least around there since it is about 5 inches longer than the banshee one i have now. And if stock is 15....then the yfz being about 3 inches longer would be about perfect seeing as the linkage setup drops the rear mount about 3 inches. Any thoughts guys? It sounds not to bad in my head...stinkinlincolnw/blaster, how does that shock ride and how do you have it adjusted? no offense but im a full 100 lbs lighter than you and if you have it setup soft and it rides good than itl never be right for me

i have it on or damn close to factory settings rebound wise but the two big nuts for the spring are near the top so the ride hieght is even, rides really good for meee, i would recommend the 400ex for u since your kinda light, my ride is nice but a lil firm in spots if a person doesnt know how to ride in a good whoop section that 450 throws ya around

alright well im gonna keep thinkin about this and probably go take some more measurements...i think im gonna focus on finding a set of yfz shocks for the front first though...because to be honest the 400ex shocks i am using now do not feel good at all...they only have preload adjust, and i have them all the way up, and they feel like just straight springs like barely any dampening...i have +3 arms and i think they are overworkin the 400ex shocks...where did you guys get your yfz front shocks? im watchin ebay but some people seem to think there shocks are worth like 300 bucks...i need a deal!
