YFZ 450 Shocks

Just buy it, and see what happens. Take the rear plastic off and the stock shock off, put the frame on a crate and figure out what needs to be done, its not much though.

not that i no of, but i do no that stock yfz front shocks will fit on a blaster with stock a-arms, just did it to mine an hour ago..

how do YFZ front shocks fit with stock a arms??? YFZ shocks are like 2-3 inches longer than stock stocks....the a arms wont flex that much.....I want to see these pics!

x2^^^^ i run +3 a arms and i would say thats the smallest size i'd go, also for the 450shock cut just above the holes there now then drill into the center of your new mounting place, i used a 5/16 grade 8bolt i belive, then just use washers to fill in the gap. also $25 a great deal for that shock i paid 45 and that was a deal

there is no way that they fit. the only way they could have fit is if you compressed the shock to get it in. then the ball joints are stoping the a-arm movement. that is no good. the shocks are supose to.

and with the shocks compressed an extra 3 inches now they dont have any room to give over bumps.

^^^^^Always right! The reason I know for a fact that YFZ fronts are not going to fit on a stock blaster set up is because I had Z400 shocks on my bike before I went to banshee. I tried to put them on, I compressed them down to fit and guess what, I would have been better off putting steel rods in instead of shocks. NO room to give at all.

Also if it YFZ fronts could be a bold on mod I am pretty sure everybody on this forum would have them.

You guys need to remember that the shock location is the same, wether you have stock a-arms or +3+1's. The added length on the a-arms is from the shock mount out to the balljoint. If you can fit yfz's on regular travel +3's, then they will fit on stock arms but there going to be extremely stiff and as jackson said, its going to end up binding the balljoints and causing them to prematurely fail!
