Also noticed about 8 Philips screws surrounding the flywheel, what are those? Thanks again for the input?!

Is it safe to say something in the magneto is the root of not having spark? I have a new spark plug, trimmed back the plug wire and also unplugged the tors...just not sure if I'm headed in the right direction by trying to remove the flywheel anymore.
more then likely it is the stator... which is behind the flywheel.buy a oem stator one and nothing else.
could also be the grounds are not clean,or your ignition coil.or cdi...ect
