yamaha pistons

what do you mean by yamaha brand??

Yamaha makes 3 sizes for the blaster, 66mm (stock bore), 66.25, and 66.5

Says who yamaha brand?

they make their own pistons, like honda, kawasaki and suzuki.. cast not forged and made in japan.. the casting company as far as I know is ART... but this name is not important

the major japanese brands have pistons that are almost identical to Pro-X pisons.. Same casting, same casting company, less detail to the final machining of the pistons to help cut costs.. I dont know what else to tell you.. Other than, stock pistons are great. I chose stock over any brand because I could..

Stock pistons are perfectly engineered to run in ur cylinder.. Once Ive gone past yamaha's biggest (66.5) i'll go pro-x or vertex. Dont see the point in wiseco, unless I race with nitro fuels.. ( i dont ) Softer pistons means u'll get more time out of ur cylinder before needing to rebore it.. Sure, change the piston more often, but a piston kit from pro-x is cheaper than Wiseco, and if u can measure ur cylinder yourself, its a 3 hour top end job at home as you need not get a rebore.. Hone? flex hone made by brush research in Ohio.. Hone it with ur drill.. Beautiful crosshatch, no change in bore size as the abrasive is really fine.. End of rant.. : )

so while doing my headgasket yesteray(went and bought one from the stealership) i was looking at an old wsm piston i have from my other cylinder. the number on the piston is the same on both. would the numbers be the same on a wsm piston as all others?

btw wildcard was cool enough to tell me which brand the one in the bike is from the numbers on top of the piston so i didnt have to take the cylinder off just to see.
