Hi guys I got my wiring sorted today on blaster with another stator is now sparking good with a blue spark. It kicks over and wants to run but won't fire up though? In going to pull carb tomorrow and clean it and get fresh fuel as I used fuel I had in shed but iv had it a little while

Is there anything else I can try it has fumes coming out exhaust while trying to start it as well has plenty of compression

Check the flywheel key, "timing key" If you got spark, and it's not starting at all that may be the issue. And a fresh spark plug, Good luck !!

you have 1,567 posts??

is it a cheap stator off e-bay?
if it is a stock woodruff key then there is no position/other then the stators plate,
vitos keys are plus 4 timing...either way it should start unless your flywheel is spinning out of control.
which if the stator plate is aftermarket they can have degree timing marks on them.

good compression
fuel/air ratio is right
free flowing gas
spark,spark at the right time
good reeds..it should go kabooom:)

My guess is that you have been kicking and kicking before you eventually got a good spark, is that the crankcase is full of stale fuel and oil.

You may need to purge the bottom end.

You may have lost the key perhaps. Take the flywheel nut off, there will be a notch in the flywheel and the shaft it is on.
they need to line up and have the "key" which is essentially a rectangle piece of metal

He was an avid member before your time brother. And sold off in 2013 which was unfortunate considering his time and $$ invested

just a standard stator i replaced it as previous owner had stator rewound by company who didn't know what they were doing and put too much in it and it kept blowing the cdi. im going to drain the fuel and take carb off and clean it today. whats the ratio for fuel/oil on these again? i think its 32:1 but not 100%

It's only in one spot, make sure it didn't shear in half. On push out when putting flywheel back on.
cheers yeah its in one piece :)

it had a pretty good spark once i sorted the wiring out kicked over around three times and had to leave for to help family and not done anything since. i plan to take old fuel out tank and clean out carb today to see if that's help. what i purging the bottom end ? lol

Cheers mate its still on it and in one piece. im planning the above^^ today but may get put on hold as my mums partner has bought a scooter and maybe going to work on that instead but il update later on need to go for fresh fuel as well.

took carb off. bowl is spotless and nothing in pipes also main jet is clear (now think something flew out when i blew through it) going to get fresh fuel either tonight or tomorrow and il see if it fires up :) once running first thing il be doing is buying a tors eliminator kit as the tors box is annoying moving about to get carb out and in lol

Turning off the fuel, draining the carb, removing the spark plug, holding the throttle wide open and kicking it until all the stale fuel and oil is expelled out the spark plug hole.
oh right il do this before I put fresh fuel in is the ratio 32:1 on these ? It's bare stock I'm running the now aside from a tors removal kit I'm fitting once it's arrived

32:1 is a great mix unless you ride a lot of Wide open throttle for long periods.

Cheers blaaster il do the purging thing later today will need to wait on my 2 stroke oil coming as im going to run it on a Silkolene as i ran my last blaster on it and never had any engine issues with it, don't see any other issues with it starting think it may have been the old fuel and i think there was something inside main jet but its cleared now so il see if it fires up this week once my 2 stroke arrives, still job hunting at moment waiting on my provisional coming through as once i get my car licence im going to do my hgv training but need something the now to put cash away for blaster bits :D

If 32:1 isn't going lube the engine, nothing will....
I always ride WOT (mx track, tarmac etc. don't like the trails..)with my 2-strokes with 35:1 ( Putoline mx5 oil and 98 octane gas) NEVER had lubrication problems
If you go fatter than 30:1 , there is going to be a lot of gunk build up in the exhaust...
Just my opinion...
