Hey I have a 2004 blaster with a stock bottomend but have a vitas 240 kit and full project blaster exhaust jetted carb open air box and upgraded clutch. My vitos top end finally went up and I want to get it ported while it's off. How well will my stock rod handle that power?

Hmmmmmm....... Nice blaster you got there bro. Well the stock crank you could probably keep but if you want even more power get the +3 mm Stroker crank and get the head shaved for it. Really adds a lot of power. Youve got a nice pipe, sounds like a relative of Power Pros im assuming since project blaster pipes are F7's. If your going to go with some porting I would get a bigger carb. Good luck!

Yea I mean i looked over the bottom end and the rod has no up and down play and little side to side. And I rolled through the rod bearing and every part of it was in place. Anything else to check? P.s. I always use Honda hp2

good choice in oil.. i have ran pro honda hp2 and loved it, pricey but its a high quality oil..

qick story on the hp2 notm trying to jack your thread jst give a little story to back up your choice in oil..

my very first blaster was a 01 i didnt know anything about 2 strokes, ( yes this is the one that turned into bad biish, for thoughs that remember it)

i ran that quad about 50-60 hours in winter, running 32:1 with pro honda hp2 premixed, my machine was stock except for the vertex piston, no air box lid, and a answer silencer, i ran that machine in temps below zero.. with a 230 main, which is stock for summer with the air box lid on, ran lean all winter, and machine ran great, compression tested is in spring after modding it and adding a pipe, and if i remmeber right it was 141? compression after running lean all winter

Maybe a few mm side to side. Like if I grab the top of the rod where it connects to the piston I can wiggle it about 1/4th cm side to side?

Also what carb would you guys recommend ?

depends on the type of riding you do.. i talked with a builder and he said 34 is as big as you wanna go on a trail machine, alot of guys have had good luck with28-32mm carbs.. the bigger carbs will loose some bottom end thats why i asked what type of riding you do... if you do wide open field riding or drags or dunes than a 34... if you run trails or mx 28-32 will be perfect
