Yamaha Blaster Motors

Hi everyone!!! I need your help on this one.... I saw a '99 blaster for sell and the guy claims that the motor in the atv is a year 2000 motor in it... I know that there are usually serial numbers on the motors, but what is it suppose to say if it's a 2000? And if it's really a '99 or older what should it say? If anyone owns one that's the same year, or a bit older please help thanks! Any help will be appreciated!! Thanks!!!

well, don't know how to tell the difference, but the motors are all the same from when they started in 86 i believe till 05 or 06 when they stopped makin it.

you could call your local yamaha dealer and give them ur vin number on the frame and motor and they will tell you what year it is.
