ok i might just start the biggest argument i could but which would be a better 60 over piston wiseco pro lite forged or wossner forged?????? and which would be the longest asting been hering alot of good stuff from the wossner guys but my pap has a wiseco thats 60 over and forged and his has never had any engine trouble once it was put together never taken apart is the wossner the same way ??
i am kind of leading towards the wossner because that we me and my paps motors will be different but wanting some input

I know wossner makes big bore pistons but I'm not sure they make standard bore pistons (no reason to believe they DON'T, just never seen one)

Wiseco's have been used very successfully for quite a long time..... if you are just doing a rebuild and want to use a forged piston, you can get a wiseco on order right now and have it by the end of this week or beginning of next....

the longevity of a piston, or any motor part is largely dependent on owner maintenece !!!

i have kept paps bike with a oil change after almost every ride and mix the gas 32:1 and this bike runs good but need input on pistons

i had a brand new '96 blaster, sold it 8 very hard years later with the original cast piston in it, still running like a champ

Exactly what awk said weve took my dads top end off a few times an havent had any problems an that weisco has been through alot ik u cant compare my cast piston to a forged but i ran it lean an it seized up...

You do understand that oil change is for the transmission and has nothing to do with engine life right?

Anyway, the wossner piston and the wiseco piston are probably comparable in lifespan with the same level of care.

Awk brings up a good point. Cast pistons RUN great and can last a very long time. The thing I don't like about cast pistons is what they do at the end of their useful life. Generally forged pistons don't break or crumble, they "slide" to a stop on the sleeve and lock tight as a drum. Cast pistons crumble into tiny aluminum balls which go flying everywhere (including main bearings). With proper top end "refreshings" a cast piston can last a long long time even under heavy abuse.

I am running a wossner piston on my yellow blaster and a wiseco on the dragger. Pick one and go with it, they're both good!

yea i know i was just saying some of the maintence i use so i think i will go with a wossner since paps bike is runnin a wiseco so i would be different since we are using the same bore

/\/\ agreed,
but just thought i'd add, that 96 had never even been apart, not even for rings, started first kick everytime till the day i sold it.
that is in no way promoting a cast piston, as my last one detonated into a million pieces

wiseco for me, for life !!!!!

sicivicdude which piston do u like better in either bike????

Well, a piston to me is something I can only complain about once it fails. As long as it's still running, I'm still grinning :D

I'd probably go with a wiseco piston in a stock bore because they're readily available, but I've had some great service out of my wossner too!

ur throwin me for loops i am not wanting one in the next day or 2 but want a piston thats worth it which in ur opinion since u have both i do not need one by tomorrow

They're both good pistons. Pistons are one of those things where there's not a good, better, and best. They work or they don't for the most part and both wiseco and wossner pistons work!

If you want to be an oddball and don't mind waiting order the wossner. If you want to just pick one up at your leisure and want to save some money, get the wiseco. Both are great pistons.
