I get emails or calls on warm holes or boysen ports or whatever you want to call them. These holes that people drill into the intake are only necessary when the intake piston window closes off to late or early. They are necessary in some engines. The angle and taper are critical for those ports. I gained 10 horsepower today doing these ports; the cylinder needed them from the big stroke engine closing off the intake window.
Be careful on how you do them.

sort of off topic here: since the modding of the intake port is only beneficial up to the volume/min that the reeds can flow, is there any way to increase that amount?
i've got the vforce3 reed cage and the stock carb. would using a bigger carb flow more through the reeds, therefore calling for intake port modding?

so if install a larger carb, then would the intake need to be modded to allow for the extra potential flow?
