i'm gonna make a write-up on it. i already did a quick one on how to wire a battery and reg/rec into a blaster. but i'll get some photos and all on thios
Is it ported at all? Like your Zilla it is a real bad idea to try and kick start my Blasty without boots lol
A couple years ago at Busco Joey tried to push my kicker down by hand and asked me if it was stuck in gear.
I said nope it's is neutral- thats just how it is I:I
Looking good so far Mike.
Got around to messing with my new lighting setup today, no installation yet, but started to modify the headlights themselves to fit my HID bulbs, and did a quick wire-up of the wiring on my floor to give a general idea of how it is going to be setup.
I bought a set of 3in Round Foglights off eBay to take place of the stock single H4 that comes on Zillas.
Heres a picture of how their stock lights are wired up and where the wires come out, definately going to need modification for my HID bulbs.
I had to cut a hole in the center of the backing plate for: 1) clearance of the HID bulb itself, since it is much longer, and 2) so I could run the wiring thru since the connectors are quite large. Picture is modded on left and stock on right
I only modified one light tonight, will probably do the other one in a few days. Decided to lay out the lighting system and plug up all the wires just to get a visual of how the wiring will look. There are Ricky Stator 130w Lighting Coils, Trailtech Rectifier, Yuasa Gel-Cell Battery, VVM 55w HID Ballasts, and my eBay H3 foglights.
That is not how my wiring is going to be finalized. I am going to be using a system of relays (3 actually) to control my electronics on the Zilla because I am going to add in some sensors also.
Relay #1 will be the "Main Relay," in the sense that the Key will activate that and actually allow ground flow back to the battery. When that is not energized nothing will have a ground path so my battery will not discharge overnight or when not in use.
Relay #2 will be the "Sensor Relay," used for my EGT sensor and Water Temp Sensor. I want these items to have their own dedicated relay, since I am not 100% sure their current load yet, but with 2 55W HIDs the lighting circuit would be pretty taxed already.
Relay #3 will be the "Lighting Relay," this will control my HID ballasts and my taillight. I am eliminating the "Hi/Low" control usage and am just going to have one mode for my lights..ON lol.
This setup should help me see insanely far at night!
The EGT and Water Pump sensors will be a tuning item more than anything, but will always be in use on the quad to ensure that I am not running it near failure at any time.
Check out my video in the post above this, has my plastics all on and the Quad is ready to run!
