Hello I am new here, your forum is really good.....

I bought 1 year ago a 99 blaster 60over, wiseco pistons, FHM exhaust system... I had always a little bit problems with stating the engine, I know 2strokes are not easy to start. A week ago I tryed to start the engine, I took a heater for 5 minutes so the engine wouldnt be that cold. I tryed it probably 50 times, nothing. Once I thougt it would start, but than it made a weired pop noise and it wouldnt start. I took the spark plug out, of course wet...put a new one in and checked the spark, spark was ok... than I cleaned the carb... put new gas in 40:1 and tryed it again... I cant start it...

Maybee you guys know more, I dont know whats going on :">

Thank you very much...

welcome to the forum..well id mix it 32:1 to start and kicking it 50 time's is crazy.. ithe most i kick my bike is twice.. it all in how your bike is tuned.. do you have a compression tester?? pull your reeds and have a look at em should be tight on the cage.. if there is spark and compression all your missing is gas.. need to look into that carb a little more..

yeah somethings wrong check compression and reeds and you might want to pull the flywheel and make sure ur key isn't sheared and throwing your timing off

even when mine is cold it starts within like 3-4 kicks, and when it's warm usually on the first kick.

Thanks guys , I will check the compression and see whats going on.... Where can I find a compression tester ? Could it be also thr tors ? Should I disconnect it ? What else could it be ??

Thanks for your help !!!

Make sure to hold the throttle wide open when you test the compression, kick it untill the needle stops moving....usually about 10 kicks. You said you had good spark, what is the condition of your air filter and how fresh is your fuel...you may need to clean your carb. The low end jetting that affects your starting will be your pilot jet and air screw, with the colder weather it may be necissary to turn your air screw in a bit. Try turning it 1/4 turn at a time and see if that helps.

Well when the tors messed up on mine it would idle fine but would shut off if I hit the throttle, which means if I hit the throttle while I was kicking it, it wouldn't start. You can try unplugging the tors brain and trying it.

OK thank you guys,

I will try at first the compression afterwards the tors.... I already cleaned carb, and it is also new gas in it, but I couls also try the air screw...

I will try it tonight, than I will write you back.... thanks

Ok guys,

I checked the spark again, was fine, I removed the tors, the compression is also fine....I really dont know what it could be... but maybee it is the carb, I cleaned the jet inside, but what else could it be ... do i need to clean something else in or at the carb...maybee you guys have pictures for me what I need to clean and where i can adjust the importend stuff like the air...that would be really nice

THANK YOU VERY MUCH...

your air fuel mix screw is on the right side of the carb, the idle is on the top, is it even firing like it wants to start?

No it is doing nothing....
What could it be on the carb ??? I mean I cleaned the carb inside, jet and al that stuff, is there something else to clean ? Is it maybee something on the electric ?

Thanks

Please help me guys, I dont know what to do !!!!

I tried almost everything, could it be the electrick ????

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks.

i am almost certain it is the flywheel key. u will have to take the left case cover off and pull the flywheel and if u dont have a flywheel puller get one!!! it is invaluable. 9/10 times when the engine pops the timing is off( sometimes carb issue/sometimes busted piston) the flywheel spins by ur foot kickin the engine over and generates electricity giving u a spark. there is a woodruff key so the flywheel is placed in correct time with the pick up. the biggest mistake made is the nut that holds the flywheel isnt torqued tight enough and shears key offd. u will still get a spark because flywheel will still spin , it just isnt firing at the correct time. hope this helps and before u jack with anything else check it first!!!!

thanks, so i need to take the left case of pull the flyw. off, and what then, do i need to change the key, or tourque the nut down ? what is a woodruff key ? do ou have pictures ?

Thanks.

Well its a weird roundish key way, and if its bent or sheared off then its bad of course! Its in the grove in the shaft and its what aligns the flywheel with the shaft. If you take it apart, you can't miss it.

yo i got an idea. turn ur fuel on reserve. kick it 10x with no throttle, then kick it 3 times with throttle. turn ur gas off and kick away. that works for me when she doesnt start. use ur choke too
