Hey guys, great forum, just registered but been lurking for a while. I need some help. I recently bought a 93 blaster that needed a clutch. I took care of that and all was fine until I went riding a few weeks ago. After riding a while I noticed it wouldn't shift past third gear(just seemed like there was no more gears, the shifter would not budge). I removed the clutch cover and everything looked fine, so I split the cases but can't find any obvious problems. The shift stopper is getting stuck between gears some of the time when shifting. If I remove the shift stopper, the shift drum seems to move smoother. The shift star is welded on and the forks look straight. Been scratching my head for a week, just can't figure it out. Don't want to start throwing parts at it until I am sure what the problem is. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Yea, That is the first thing I did, it was bent up pretty bad, but didn't help.

replace the shift shaft and shift star . if its welded on, that proabbly why it dont shift.

the later year blasters come with a welded shift star. it had a tendency to become loose so they actually fixed the issue. no info on fixin it though. i would assume something was bent. shiftshaft or shift fork. maybe something is installed wrong. one of the forks out of place or accidentally got two of them mixed up
