i went to greenridge forest this weekend to ride my blaster and when i was going up hills it would barley pull them and i dont understand why. basically what was happening is if i was on flat ground or hit the hills with speed it would make it up them but if i was on the hill and even if i was in 1st gear it would not rev up and it would act as if it was in high gear? whats goin on with this thing?

im not sure how i would know if it has good compression or not i know that it rips on flat roads and when i hit hills with speed , i dont know about the jets i do know that it has a rebuilt carb though , stock pipe, and the guy said it was a 240 but judging by the case and head i think he ment it was bored 40 over the plug was also sorta black if that that helps

hmmm. how hard is it kick over? Do you have a compression tester? is the kick start soft enough to push down with your hand?

Are you running the oil injection or premix?

i premix it 32:1 and also i can push it by hand but no its not easy it would take some ass and when it starts it kicks back fairly good

Mine actually just started doing the same thing last weekend. I flipped it and after that I was having problems with shifting and could not make it up hills. I was going up a small hill and I downshifted and it acted as if I upshifted and started bogging more. I will be looking into my transmission this weekend to see what could be going on. This was also the break in ride for a new top end so I will be looking into a couple other things. I will try to remember to post my findings so you can look into them on your blasty.

have u guys removed ur airbox lids???

I have not but it never had any problems before it rolled. That and shifting problems started at the same time on the first ride with a new top end bored .040. I was thinking mine might be jetting problems but it was fine before it rolled. I haven't looked into it too much yet I had to do a brake job on my friends truck earlier but when I start pulling things apart I'll let you know of my findings.

If your tearing into it anyway it might be a good idea to check the reeds. I was having a similar problem and worked and worked my carb, jetted and jetted! Frustrated as hell i pulled the reed cage and bingo, one cracked reed and one chipped off. Im not saying thats your problem but in my case it was an easy fix.
