The instructions for my new Wiseco piston say additional ring gap clearance is neccesary for aftermarket pipes, blah, blah, blah, but doesn't say how much. They reccomend .004 per inch of bore, which in my case is roughly .011 (.40 over). The manual says stock is 8~14. I'm thinking about runnin with .013 for sh#ts & grins. Whadda ya think?

I bought a BB Wiesco piston and I am pretty sure I was told to gap it at .013. I havent put it in yet but I'm getting it today and I'll double check the gap and get back to you.

Thanks! One of the DIY vids showed a 250yz topend rebuild gapped at .013 so I'm assuming its large enough.

.013 will be fine.

Thanks, trying to take my time & make sure I do this right! The guy I got it from obviously didn't. Here's a pic of the old one holding up my bugly silencer. :o Thanks again guys!
