I have two questions:

1. I took of the key to my 2001 blaster. From looking at the wiring diagrams it seems that leaving an open circuit will allow for the ATV to start, correct? By just electrical taping the wires so they didnt touch anything, it should start fine?

2. My friend gave me a pro design blue tether kill switch. Does anyone know if these are N.O. or N.C. switches? Pro design does not say on its web site and we can't find the manual to the kill switch. Also, when saying if it is N.O. or N.C., does "normally" imply with or without the key inserted? i.e. if i have the key put into the kill switch, and its a normally open switch, is it an open circuit at that point? or is it an open circuit when the key is pulled out? Thanks for the help.

LOL....Im good with electronics and wiring, but after that bunch of interesting info...I feel dumb!

You can test it (easiest way to find out) use a multimeter, or continuity tester, or if you dont have them, use a battery and a light and a few pieces of wire. Hook the light up to the battery so it turns on, then remove one of the wires, and hook your kill switch into it instead of the solid wire. If the light comes on, then you now it has a closed free flowing path, if it doesn't, then its open.

For a kill switch, you want it to be open except when you pull the cord out or push the button which ever type of switch you have. When you do that and close the circuit, it is grounding the spark to the chassis instead of letting it get to the plug.

yeah i dont have a volt or multimeter readily available and i'm pretty sure I won't be going out to buy one haha. i was just hoping someone could tell me instead going to get a light bulb to test it with haha. They do design normally open circuit and normally closed circuit kill switches, thats why i'm not sure which one this is. time to get something to test it with.

The biggest question i had was with the key. If i interpreted the wiring diagram correctly, an open circuit for the wires going to the key allows the ATV to be turned on. Is that the right interpretation?

On Blasters, when the 2 switch wires are NOT connected, it will run...

When the wires are attached together, it will not run.

I can't answer your question about the tether switch, but it would take all of 2 minutes to hook it up find out.
