why have i broke the center gear off the clutch basket 2 times now.. am i doing something wrong? the Manuel says to toque the boss nut down to 58ft-lbs that's what i did... and the boss wouldn't turn free from the basket..i tried it and i had no clutch.. so i loosened it up a little just so the boss would spin and that's when it broke the center gear. the first time the kick start spring broke and went into the gears thats how it broke the first time.

btw the center gear is the one that kick start gear go to to turn the motor over.

The clutch side is inch pounds NOT foot pounds.Need a inch pound wrench.

He is talking about the bigger nut that holds the boss in and it is not in inch pounds.

You sure the torque wrench isnt out of wack? That happend to me once, I broke a oil pan bolt right off into the block of my nissan.

idk maybe.. ill try another torque wench when i get my new basket. it just sucks.

^ lol , all i can say is check the nut for cross threading, or check the torque wrench...
