You can run a 4 poke pipe on a 2 stroke. It jes wouldn't make as much power as it should and have zero powerband.
I actually run a short straight pipe on my 27cc 2 stroke r/c buggy. Think tremendous top end and no low end.
'fat' pipes are tuned acoustically to make a top end powerband. I'm not gonna pretend I know exactly how it all works cause if I did I'd have a better pipe on my own Blasty
