I have one... I found the survey stakes for my property.
Unless you spend a lot of money for a high end model $400 + you will be mostly digging up metal junk.

Found a flat button made between 1780 to 1820 about 8 inch down. Found some pre 1800's hand forged flat nails at about 6 inch down. I find it very relaxing metal detecting. Love doing it.

I have the Minelab Sovereign XS -2a Pro. I find some real deep stuff. Just started so I don't have many good finds right now.
