I just got this blaster with the top end pulled off and I want to try to put it together as cheap as I can just to hear it run and see if the bottom end is good. I have been checking ebay and craigslist for a used .040" piston for my blaster with no luck. If I can find a piston for cheap, then get new rings, wrist pin and bearing I can save a few bucks. I would also need the clips and a new gasket set. I hate to buy all of this new only to find my bottom end is junk. Know what I mean?

you realize that getting a wrist pin, bearing, and rings will cost about as much as a cast piston kit right?
just spend a couple extra bucks, what makes you think there's a problem in the bottom end? does the crank spin free with no noise? is the connecting rod side play within spec? is there any play in the bearings? you can check these things

yes it's 67.00 with rings, clips, and wrist pin. I have a box but not the original. It was shipped inside a cylinder I had done up. They said to protect it during shipping. After that it has just been sitting on the shelf, so if you want it let me know. I can wait I am in no hurry, just saw you needed one.
