What's wrong with me? 2000+ blaster

Here are 2 links (youtube) to a short video of my quad running and revving, I hope it's enough for someone to know what is wrong with it. I did some mods and it started running/revving strange, I have a video so you can hear the noise. Mods were: Exhaust, air filter, spark plug, and air box filters. It started revving too high (higher rpms in cars) and then stalling if I didn't give it enough gas. I've been told I might need to buy a jet kit and that will solve it. I don't want to spend money that will not help me. The choke is pulled out one click, if I leave it in it won't start and if I pull it out 2 clicks it over-revs.

sounds like a carb prob, does it still have the stock main jet, if so u need to go up, because of the pipe, if u have too hold the choke out, ur motors not getting enough air, whats the air screw setting at?

if it is running high than you could have an air leak. get the bike running and spray everthing around the engine (including the engine) with carb cleaner,If you hit the air leak with the carb cleaner it will rev higher,and help you locate the leak

Thanks for the ideas of things to do to better explain what is wrong and possibly fix it. I'll look it over and try the carb cleaner idea, if that is not it I'll post any new information on what I observe...

PS... I'm not sure what the screw setting is at, I do have the stock jet. I had been looking into getting a new one hoping that would fix the problem, but I wasn't sure if that was the problem. I'd rather not spend $50+ to rejet and still have the problem

im not an expert... have you tried removing the seat and adjusting the air screw?
I think you can get just the single jet or a couple to be safe. you dont need a whole kit.

WOW Ur's is doing same thing mine is. do u have a weird sound when u try 2 top it out in 6th gear? I'm sending my carb off to get it ported and polished I'm betting he will clean it 2. and im going 2 clean out my gas tank fuel thing and run a fuel filter. keep us posted on what works for Ur's thx

just go to your local dealer and get a single jet or two, it'll only be around $5-$10!!! i would try a 260 first though!!!!

More then likely you are going to have to rejet the carb, the maker of the pipe you put on would be a big help in telling you what size jet to go to

I ordered a jet kit from jetsrus.com and I stated with the second largest jet (300), it idles high now even after adjusting the idle screw. I am going to change the jet either 1 or 2 sizes down and see if that fixes it. Everyone that posted a reply, thanks for the ideas and help.
