What year is my Blaster?

Hello, I'm a new member here so please bear with me if I posted this in the wrong section or if this has already been discussed and I can’t find it. I just bought a blaster a few days ago for a good price and would like to know what year it is... the guy who sold it to me said it was a 2001, but upon checking the VIN (which is hardly legible) it looks to be a 94 (tenth digit looks like an "R"). it has newer plastics on it so it looks like a new bike but I'm not sure what to look for to tell if its an early to late 90s or in fact a 2001. the motor says 2xj00 if that makes a difference. I couldn't find much online about differences so I thought maybe you guys could help. What should i look for on my blaster to discern the year and is there really a difference between say a 94 and an 01 that i should really care about? Thanks for your help!

brakes will tell you that its the old style or new
old has cable brakes, new has hydraulic

knowing if it is old or new is all that matters. those are the only model differences.

someone could have replaced the frame but,88-02 have 4 wire stators,the headlight is differnt brakes are different,tors is different,Do you got a pic?

oops 94-01 should have no differences when ordering parts.,03-06 have more changes.

Thanks for your replies. It has cable brakes and the headlight has been removed, what should I upload pics of?

well it definetly under a 03 then if the frame is saying its a 94 then its a 94..the color schemes were different i think but if it has aftermarket or new plastics then who knows In all reality you could put a 01 frame on it and call it a 01 lol.

Haha I guess that'll work. It had the engine rebuilt recently and looks good inside so I guess it doesn't really matter. Thanks for your help I really appreciate it!
