what year blaster do i have

most part fit both models but im looking to get new sprockets n chain n im seeing that u need to know what model u have the kid i got it off of didnt no i just thought it was a 98 but some have sed that it looks new but idk is there a definitive way to no

all blasters take the same exact chain and sprockets

but the 10th digit of your vin # tell what year it is.

OK looks like my 2005 blaster is really a 2003. Glad I have a photo of it as I'm not going to be able to see it after powder-coating.

For the 2003 model year the Blaster was updated with a re-styled front nose, and the headlight assembly was moved down from the handlebars to the nose, and an all around lighter machine for greater performance. The problematic mechanical rear and front drum brakes were replaced by dual hydraulic disc brakes in both the front and rear.
