i thought this would be a good idea to post becuase i got screwed over when i bought my blaster. this post is all about what questions to ask when buying a blaster to check if its in good condition and to ask yourself when your looking over a used one. ill start it off anyone feel free to add on

Does it start
When was the most recent rebuild
Does it idle properly
What bore size is the cylinder
Is the frame bent
Has it ever been rolled
Are the footpegs sharp
How often was the oil changed
Has it ever been leakdown tested
Does it have the stock intake gaskets
Does it have a green base gasket
What ratio is the gas mixed to
Do the wheels, a arms or swing arm wobble
Have you ever replaced the bearings
Does it have a new grab bar/bumper, did the old one break, how
Is the carb properly jetted
Have any screw holes been retapped
How often was the air filter cleaned
When was the last time you checked the battery (you have to make sure they know the quad well enough to know that it doesnt have one)
When was the last time brake pads were replaced
Does it have tors
Is the parking brake blocked off
Has it even revved up by itself
Has a piston ever shattered in it
Was it properly broken in
Have the reeds ever been replaced?

Anyone feel free to chime in im sure i forgot a lot of stuff!

you can "ask" anything you want but the answer you get might not be the truth SO you better know what to look for and "ask" the questions to yourself as you are looking the USED item over. this goes for anything i buy used. i believe none of what i am told. honestly dont really listen to what they have to say because 90% of it is usually fairy tale. i have seen enough junk to know that most people think there selling a pot of gold. people will tell you anything to make a sale.

^ I've had mixed results with sellers, some will sprout off any line of BS they can to attempt to get a sale, while others are pretty honest. Sometimes I'll ask something intentionally wrong to see if they agree or say yes, then call em out on it lol

Hear you on that I got this 2005 and they said it was port and polished and it wasn't they said the tors was removed it wasn't idiots was running mixed gas in it that was green wtf?I got it home checked over a hell of alot and then gave AWK a call got a little help on some things and got this thing running really good in just 1 day and a half just gotta get the clutch issue fixed but they was right on the new veforce 3 reeds LOL

Ask for paper work to prove any claims of a stroker crank, porting, rebuild , ect. If you can't see it, don't believe it.It's kind of funny that about 75% of the Blasters I see on my local CL, just had the top end rebuilt.
