Alright i was driving today, 6th gear maxed out for maybe 3 seconds and i let go pull over and make the turn and the thing dies, No spark. The thing has compression. brand new plug, TORS removed so I dont know what else to check. I was gonna pull the Head and see if I blew something but I came on here to see if anybody could guide me a little bit! Tried kick starting tons of times, let it sit for over an hour and re tried to no avail, Tried push starting and got nothing I am absolutely stumped
2002 blaster as well!

Don't tear the engine apart, you've got compression.
Did you pull the plug and make sure that you DON'T? have spark?

How do I check for sparkk? I feel like I don't have any spark if anybody can just give me a run down on it

pull the plug out. leave it attached to the wire and kick it over a couple times while lookin at the plug and see if you can see a spark

also, you have to touch the side of the plug to the motor to ground it for it to spark

it could have overheaded...idk were you live but its summer and out here in az you can only ride fer maybe 2 hours in the morning before it gets over 100...so maybe the heat did something...?

sounds like a woodruff key problem. pull the right side cover off your motor (8 screws) and look to see if your flywheel spins freely. if it does, you sheared that key in there and need another. they are about $3 at the yamaha dealership

Only had it running about 15 minutes! and it was 81 degrees today so not to bad!

i agree with Valhalla.. sounds very very much like a woodruff key prob... just do what he told you to..

but if you have compression don't go tearing apart your top end..

err i opened up the other side and now the kick start wont kick over? must have put it in wrong? Or the lack of tranny oil
