what size jet

I 've got a stock 2001 blaster with a toomey pipe and im trying to figure out what size main jet, should i use. I searched online and the toomey site recommends the #310 main jet. Will this be the right size jet or does it sound a little to big, what do you guys think.

me personally i would go with the 290, its not too small and not too big

Jetting is one of those things that can not be guessed at. Every bike is different.

^true^ but you do need a starting point. if you are removing the airbox lid, i'd say 310 is a good starting point.

I have a 2000 blaster with fmf slip on. bored .90 over with wiseco forged piston and its stroked 3mm. getting ready to put her back together and I am just curious about what jet to run.

i tried a 290 jet with my setup and it soaked the plug.

i couldn;tsee a 310 working

I guess I am going to start with a 290 since its the biggest I bought. I'm running a crappy DG pipe and a stock silencer, but a clamp on conical filter. Hopefully the combo is still mild enough for a 290 to be enough jet. Then again, I would hate to lean and seize a new top end due to insufficient jet... Dammit

Start out at 270...that way you can go up or down.
