what cylinder is this

it's missing the markings on the intake = Vitos 240

Well for 30 bucks and a old cylinder I don't think it sounds like a bad deal and he has a recept where they had a shop buy it and put it on a few years ago

It is definitely a Vitos 240.. Like Awk posted about the not having y2 on the intake. Also the Vitos cylinders have horizontal lines on the intake which the one you posted has. They are faint but they are there.

Well he just told me he would sell me the whole bike for 350 needs a topend and possibly a crank but he doesent know but I will most likely buy it tomorrow what do yall think its worth running I'm thinking like 1000 to 1200

Sounds about right. Might get a little more if parted out though. But you have to figure in new bore and piston plus shipping then a new crank and time and labor costs.. Part out might be best if trying to make $.. just my .02 though..

Then like Awk said,,, these cyls don't have many bores in them. If there is a big gouge/score in cyl wall it could be over for that cyl.. Tell that to the seller and see if you can knock the price down or even ask if you can pull the top end off quick before forking over any $. Otherwise its a stock blasty needing a complete rebuild +.. If newer year with hydros than you should be good, if not than ??

You got to protect your investment.

Well ️Iv got a topend in my garage with a .60 over wise co I was gonna put in it and keep the bbk and I have a crank I will have ken rebuild and its a pre 03 so no hydros

Well I just picked it up and it has tons of compression so I don't think the topend is bad but I looked in the intake boot and it looks like one of the bottom reeds is bent a lil and not sealing properly but I think the running problem is because of a sheared woodruff key I'm gonna pull the flywheel off tomorrow and do a leak down test but the tires are like brand new

I brought it to school it needs new reeds cause one is broke and it had a green base gasket so new topend gaskets and it should be running
