What Are Overall Good Prices I Should Be Looking For ?

Hi guys…

I know this is such a hella vague question. I’m still working on the ’91 for between $700 and $800, as it’s setup with fresh top end from last season, piped, and cared for pretty well (see thread on Whats A Good Price on a ’91?).

My question is, what are good “overall” prices. I’m finding a lot here in Socal in the $1000 range, many beat, but some all stock & well cared for. I figure anything roughly ’99 and below should be around in the $1000 range, depending on conditing and what was done to it, and anything in the 2000 year and above should be in the $1500 range give or take, again, depending on shape & care.

I want to keep below 2002 as with EPA / Emission laws here in Socal, Red Sticker bikes can only ride until 5/31 whereas Green Sticker are year round. Keeping it below 2002 alleviates the Red Sticker syndrome…

Any help would be greatly appreciated, & thank you…

Thanx
David

Around me (Ohio) 1500 for an 02 or older model is on the high end. For that kind of money it should be VERY well kept and nicely modded. You can find beat up or older stock ones in the 500-800 range depending on condition. Unfortunately staying 02 or older you will end up with the drum brakes unless you convert or find on that has been converted.

Yeah, I know, thanx guys... Got to remember, I live in the land of the plastic & expensive (San Diego) where we can ride year round pretty much.

Stumbled on this one this AM that I may go look at after work... Not too far from my house. Basically stock, except pipe and bars...

Yamaha Blaster ATV

And i'm a fan of the color. Matches my CRF150F lol...

Thanx,
David

It was ok. Needed about 200 bucks right off the top of work if not more... Rode ok. Chain & Sprockets gone. Rear tires through, even with the balloons, were not good at all...

The hunt continues...

I'd be lucky to get $1500 out of mine. Then again, there isn't much demand in my area. I'm not sure there is a "good" price set in stone. A lot has to do with mods and condition it's in. For me, it matters what I'm going to do with it in the future. If the top end is fried, I couldn't care less since I'd be porting/stroking/etc it anyways and that's a good deal. If I want it running and in great shape, prices vary. $800-$1200 for 88-02 in great condition close to stock. $1200-1500ish for 03-06 close to stock in great condition.

i paid 20 bucks for my 2001 I:I although i did buy it at the car garage i work at and we got it as a trade and acv'ed it for 15... freakin love the car business

That's kinda where i'm at bro, I do want it running, working, ridable, so I can take my time on the build. The one yesterday was ridable & in decent shape, but I just didn't like the drop i'd do instantly, as I know me. The '91 I posted in another thread I really like, as, even though older, the guy seemed to have taken better care of it.

The market here is wretched too, which is great for me. As you guys mostly know, it's between a blast or a 450R, which I should have never sold in the first place. Here in Socal, you can get clean 2004 450R's for very good prices, so i'm really really searching & doing all my homework.

If the guy would just email me back on the 91, but I think I insulted him.. His loss, I have that short money...

Thanx
David

I think i'm actually going to go with a 4 stroke guys ( don't hate me )...

In my infinite search across craigslist far & wide, I stumbled across a 2005 TRX 450R in Black, same one I used to have. The difference is that this thing is hooked up with Lonestar DC4 A Arms, Elka Shocks up front, Curtis Sparks full system, Lonestar Nerfs/Pegs, and DG Bumper & Grab. Maintenance / Service just done. Female owned twice ( I would be owner 3 ).

All for $2900. A steal with the aftermarket stuff on it. Will be checking out this week, as it's kinda a hike from my pad. They even said they would deliver it...

We shall see. Parts alone are worth this deal...

Thanx
