the yfzr's seem to have some electrical problems and some kind of internal bearing failure

whats wrong with the normal yfz?

yeah, I am a member at both of those forums...

and the yfzr has suspension probs, and does not like mods

I have always like the ltr450 though

the ltr is better stock i would say
but for the same price id say get a normal yfz then pump cash into making it a mx beast
all depends on what your doing though if your wanting to put mods onto it or are leaving it in stock form.

He'll be modding whatever he gets to try to hang with the blaster next year! lol! I'd go with the ltr if it were me, jmo.

LTR all the way, do the big 3 and the shift pin relocator and never look back. The YFZ-R is still in its infancy and is prone to problems, no-one gets it right the first time.

I thought they fixed the shift pin prob for the 08-09 models
and the only prob was the third gear

If you are getting it for the MX track then i would go with the LTR.... if you are getting it for the woods then I would get a normal YFZ... the LTR is to wide for tight trails.... Also if you doing woods riding look into the TRX 450R. It has better bottom end then both the LTR and YFZ or you may also look ingo the KFX 450... They have reverse and Fuel Injection and great bottom end power but the suspention isn't the best.

LTR all day. But, as mentioned, I would look for an '06-'07. If you buy new, contact ATP racing and get a billet third gear from them. Maybe I'm biased a bit, but I've ridden all of the 450's other than the the YFZR and the KFX, and I feel the LTR is the best handling on stock suspension and arms. Buy a PC3, a nice intake, and a DASA, Yosh, or HMF pipe and don't look back.

Im all yamaha baby and loove the yfz and loved to have a yfz450r BUT after seeing the ltr's run time after time specially dustin wimmers i keep getting more inloved with them and now that i hear the yfzr is havinng some probs id go with the ltr hands down, id jsut change those freaking huge stock heel guards :D make sure to post pics when you get one.

or the 09 or 10 ds 450 with the upfaded tranny and cluchtes they r x2 as good as the 08 and are fast as helll and handle good and efi with 3 progamable igniton/ fuel maps
